TODAY IS THE DAY OUR NEWEST BABY IS COMING HOME! The newborn is eagerly being awaited. The newest addition to our house. The youngest of the siblings. My Dad took out the baby crib from the attic, cleaned and placed it in the baby’s room. My Dad was supposed to call on the flea pest control company, but seeing how clean the house is, decided there’s no need anymore.
Our parents arrived proudly cradling our cute baby sister. She looks so gorgeous. Her baby skin is so smooth and delicate. Our parents warned us not to kiss our sister in the face because her skin is still so sensitive. Her skin will be irritated. Control your kisses for a while. We had so much fun with the baby during the day. We were delighted to look after her while my parents rested for a while. Mom gave her thumbs-up approval for the “perfect house cleaning”. My Dad saw no need to tell her, he didn’t have the house treated by a flea pest control company.
Then it’s time to bring the baby into her room for the night. We said our goodnight to the baby, one by one. Being the youngest, I was the last to go inside. I took a quick glance at my Mom. I kissed my little sister on the cheek, knowing Mom wouldn’t see me. Looking very innocent, I strolled out of the room.
Late in the night, we all heard the baby cry. Everybody ran to the baby’s room. We found Mom embracing our baby sister trying to alleviate her crying. After a while the baby stopped. Mom showed us the reason for her crying. Her cheek have this swollen reddish irritation. Seeing the reason, I started to cry. It was their turn to be surprised. In between sobs, I told them it was my fault. I revealed to them that I kissed our baby sister while Mom was not looking. My mother beckoned me and said she was very glad that I told her the truth and for being brave about it. But it was not your fault, she said. A flea or some pest have bitten her on the cheek. This time, all heads turned to Dad. He finally admitted not calling the flea pest control company. So now, he knows, he made a big mistake. So, the next morning, Dad called up the flea pest control company and scheduled an appointment. The treatment went on without a hitch and all of us were greatly relieved. All’s well that ends well.
